Westchase BOD To Address Abandoned Homes
Residents frustrated by the increasingly decrepit appearance of Westchase homes that have been abandoned or neglected through foreclosure received a helping hand from the Westchase Community Association (WCA) board of directors at its Aug. 13 meeting. In an historic shift in policy, directors voted to adopt "self-help" procedures that delineate steps necessary to undertake basic yard maintenance of abandoned, empty homes and then bill the homeowners for the work.
Testing To Interrupt Some Reclaimed Water Service in Northwest County
Reclaimed water service in a portion of northwest Hillsborough County will be interrupted for several days so tests can be run at the source facility.
The service interruption, scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. on Friday (Sept. 5) and lasting until 7:30 a.m. on Sept. 12, will affect residential and commercial reclaimed water customers in the Westchase, Eagles, Westchester, Mandolin and Westwood Lakes developments, as well as others in the Citrus Park and Upper Tampa Bay areas. During this time, property owners are advised to postpone putting in new plantings or using fertilizers, pesticides or other lawn treatments which require watering after the application.
The testing on samples of the reclaimed water produced by the Northwest Regional Water Reclamation Facility is being conducted as part of the plant's normal operating permit requirements.
